Polaroid Digital Camera? Please HElp!!?
I have a pink Polaroid i735 digital camera and every time i push the button to power it on it makes a beeping sound like the batteries are dead, but they are new batteries. I have bought the new rechargeable batteries and energizer but it keeps doing the same thing. I doesn't show anything on the screen when it beeps just the black screen. Does anyone know the cause of this? purchased the camera in June of last year.
It does sound like a battery problem is most likely!
Firstly make sure you have a new set of alkaline batteries just for testing with!... Does it switch on with these known brand-new batteries?
If it still doesn't come on then check the contacts in the battery compartment.... look for any signs of dullness or corrosion.... If present, you may need to use a piece of emery-board to clean the contacts, but make sure you don't allow any of the dust into the camera, and wipe it out with a bit of tissue paper!
If the camera has been dropped at all.... It is possible that connection to the contacts has become intermittent and will need professional repair!
It might be an idea to remove all batteries (including any that may hold camera settings, if available) and leave the camera for a few hours in a cool room..... then try it again with the batteries replaced!
One last thought!.... Are there any signs of obstructions if you look down the tubes of the lens as you switch it on? Does the lens move at all or make any sounds? Sometimes dust or tiny sand-like particles can get trapped in the lens mechanism and will cause a 'lens error' to be reported to the camera..... usually this will be displayed on the screen, but I'm not sure about this particular camera as I've never used one!
