Camera Point

Alternative to the basic point and shoot camera?

I am a user of canon point and shoot ixus for the last 4 years. Wanted to change to the camera which would allow me to manually modify aperture, shutter speed. Dont want to get a standard SLR as they are too big. Any other recommendations? Lumix GF1 looks interesting but a little too expensive.

The Fuji S1500 and S1800 are very nice cameras but they lack a manual focus option. Heres a recent YA question because hes having trouble with the auto focus in macro mode

If youre getting a camera with manual modes you should get something with a manual focus option as well.
