How would you recall footage from a really old camera?
I just found an old Argus Showmaster 822T that is in near-mint condition and there was a tape next to it that looked used. I think that it used to belong to my grandfather, but I can't figure out how to recall any footage on the tape. Any useful information would be great, because this could be my first chance ever to see and hear my grandfather!
Oops I realized that, with this camera something like 40 years old, there would be no sound

DO NOT OPEN THAT CANISTER OR THE FILM WILL BE RUINED IF IT HAS NOT BEEN DEVELOPED.
So... The first step would be to get that film developed - there are not very many places that do that, so you may need to research. It would be best to find someone locally so you don't have to worry about anything getting lost in-transit.
Once it is developed, the film would be put into a projector and played. The place that did the developing may have a projector. While that is projected (on a screen) it can be captured to digital video (with a camcorder)... then you can bring it into a computer for editing or burn to a DVD.
